Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon

Gea: We hebben het prima gezellig met ons beide, leuk dat de foto's en verhalen een soort vakantiegevoel geven.
We decided to stock some food, gas and the aux cable for the car radio in Las Vegas. Our trip to Bryce Canyon and on to the hotel in Cannonville should take us about 6 hours and with the major part being a desert trip we did not want to risk not finding food and gas.
While in our hotel room we heard the wind gusting outside and while packing the car we had to hang onto our stuff. Marks phone quickly found all the places we needed to go, even the cheapest gas station. We noticed that it looked a little foggy and after turning onto the high way it was 'clear' to see the dust blown around by the wind. We saw lots of tumble weeds but they were not as round as they are in the movies. But some of them are big and they tend to cross the road just before you pass them. Some times they try to outrun the car and with this wind they come a long way.
We passed the Arizona state line and after a while the vegetation started to change, the bushes got greener and trees became part of the landscape again. Before we got to Utah Mark needed at bathroom and we were well into Utah when we came across a Safeway supermarket which was Mark's safe way. It took us about 40 minutes to get to Bryce Canyon and we were going to make it in time to see the canyon from Sundown viewpoint. Utah is in another time zone and along the way we checked that our gps had already calculated the arrival in Utah timezone.
Therefore we were in time for a spectacular view. It was sunny and the canyon has beautiful shades of red to go with the sunset. We took some pictures and went off to Cannonville to our Grand Staircase hotel. It is a very small town with not much to do and a great hotel, we are staying two nights and we can instantly see that it will be nice. We got here just after 5 o clock and after checking in and unpacking we bought diner in the downstairs shop. We got ourselves some nice things to cook in the hotel microwave. The manager told us about a coming snowstorm so we were thinking about canceling our hiking in the canyon plans.
PS. Mark corrected me on the SafeWay supermarket, it seems to be Subway but I told him to leave it as it is because else my little joke won't work.
