Being too busy having holiday, it is not easy keeping up with writing on the blog. As for the photos, we have found the best solution ever. We've made a glossy magazine out of them using your best personal magazine, Flipboard.
So if you guys follow this link, you can see flip the photos in your browser, or install the free app on your mobile device. If you get yourself a free account you can comment on the photos. Take care if you are on a budget internet, opening photos could use more mBs than you would fancy. While at it, you can add all the magazines to your liking but for the next two and a half weeks, ours is the best ;-)

Just follow this link http://flip.it/r5LDA
Or copy/paste it in your browser, the rest is easy.

So now the photo's are taken care off, by the way, photo's are uploaded as we travel. You won't get a notification, you will see the new photo's by regularly checking our magazine.

On monday we're of on our almost three week tour, and headed for the Californian coastal route, Highway 1. As a colleague of Mark's recommended, we went for Alice's restaurant, surrounded by ancient Redwoods in the mountains, to have breakfast. For insiders, this is a USA breakfast run hangout, but being monday morning there are only a couple of bikers. The music style is all American country and sixty's and seventy's rock & roll. Breakfast is great. I would not mind having it for diner, but with a full day of driving ahead of us, starting off with a full belly is good.
The coastal part of the drive is about 450km, passing through national parks and great sceneries, check out the photos.

Tuesday was supposed to be a beach day to try out some surfing but due to the cold wind we skipped that. Karin and Jay, Jeroen is hard to pronounce in English, went to a gym for a workout while Mark and myself stayed at the hotel. After a couple of hours Karin and Jay returned from the gym, the workout was just fine and they also used other facilities like the souna. We went for a walk and visited the pier. We saw a sea otter, a pelican and some surfers. We had diner at a restaurant overlooking the pacific, in a distance a helicopter was putting out a forest fire. Afterwards, we went to the pier to see the sun set in the ocean.

Wednesday we drove to our next hotel in Joshua Tree National Park. Despite the recommendations we decided not to go to Los Angeles. As we passed over the mountains, the green turned into desert. After checking in at the hotel we got our national park pass, and went for a hike up a viewpoint in Joshua tree national park. It was a steep climb. It took us just over an hour to get up there. My world is turning, a couple of children ;-) are now waiting for me to catch up. Nice views along the way, and as the sun was setting, the shadows grew longer. Down hill took us just over 45 minutes to arrive at the car as the sun was setting. Jay did the roundtrip over the rocky hike barefoot, which didn't go unnoticed by other hikers. We drove to another viewpoint, where a couple of germans were setting up gear for nighttime photograpy. We shared a 21" pizza for diner. That's a big pizza. But to finish it off we ordered three more slices. Check the photos.

In my first blog I mentioned my Arduino project to get the temperature along the flight as it varies in my luggage. Well, the battery only lasted for about an half an hour. That's roughly the time it took us from Rob's place to the train station. It was out of juice long before we got to the airport. While Mark or Karin were driving, I got the accelerometer working. So now we can see the forces that are made by the car as we drive. Jay and I are discussing possibilities to do the same thing on the aeroplane.
